Cambodian New Year or Chaul Chnam Thmey is amongst the biggest and colorful celebrations of all festivals. Cambodian practice & celebrate the new year to reinforce their beliefs about heaven, earth, and hell, good and bad karma, which they believed to have inherited from past life. Traditionally, Khmer New Year is celebrated for three days. On these three days, pagodas are decorated with colorful religious flags. Locals wear beautiful traditional dress & prepare food offering for the monks. In the evenings youngsters participate in traditional games, dancing or watch Khmer play.
Baci Ceremony: Baci is a ceremony to celebrate a special event, whether a marriage, a homecoming, a welcome, a birth, or one of the annual festivals. In our case it is celebrated to wish us safe travels. Join a Laotian family at their home in Luang Prabang for a Buddhist Baci ceremony, followed by a dinner of local specialties.
Lamvong Dance: Enjoy beautiful classical and folk dances, and take part in Laos’ social dance “Lamvong” with the local people. Try some local Laotian food such as sticky rice, local canapés & tea.
Spend the night onboard a traditional style wooden junk boat in stunning Ha Long Bay, and set out in kayaks to explore secluded lagoons and beaches.
