Day 1: Sep. 29, SUN- SANTIAGO/ EASTER ISLAND- Dinner
Morning, fly to Easter Island, which was declared by UNESCO in 1996 as `Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad’, home to old culture of Rapa Nui. Meeting assistance and transfer to the hotel. Join fellow tour members for a tour briefing this evening followed by welcome Dinner. HOTEL TAHA TAI (standard room)
Day 2: Sep. 30, MON- ORONGO, VINAPU, AHU AKIVI & PUNA PAU- Breakfast & Lunch
After breakfast, travel towards the Cave Ana Kai Tangata, where in one of its walls, birds are drawn in a stylized painting, representing Manutara (sea swallows) and whose precious egg was the center of the annual birdman competition. Later visit the Vinapu sector, an archaeological site which has large basalt slabs carefully made similarly to the Cuzco Inca constructions. Continue to Rano Kau, a place where you will find a lake with small islands of reeds and lush vegetation and micro fauna. Orongo ceremonial village where the ceremony of the Bird Man competition was performed. The Bird Man was appointed by the king and would be the spiritual and political leader during a period of one year. The sacred character is represented as a human shrunken body with a large beak and is sculpted in many engraved stones. Return to your hotel and lunch at hotel’s restaurant. Afternoon travel to Ahu Akivi, one of the few platforms on the island where the Moais face the ocean. Legend tells that these structures represent the seven explorers sent by King Hotu Matu’a before his colonization voyage. After this visit we will continue our trip toward the site of Puna Pau, a small red scoria crater, location at which the Pukao were made, a kind of hats or topknots placed on top of some Moais of the island. Day 3: Oct. 1, TUE- AHU VAIHU, RANO RARAKU, AHU TONGARIKI & ANAKENA BEACH- Breakfast & Lunch
After Breakfast, the tour will take you to the south-east and north-east of the island to visit the Ahu Vaihu, a temple located 10 km from Hanga Roa composed of a well worked stone platform where 8 Pukaos and 8 Moais are scattered nearby. Here you can also find the Ahu Akahanga, formed by 4 platforms, 12 Moais and 8 Pukaos. Enjoy one of the best-preserved villages of the island. The trip continues towards the Rano Raraku volcanic crater formed of consolidated volcanic ash. Rano Raraku is a visual record of moai design vocabulary and technological innovation, where 397 moai remain. Time to enjoy your box lunch at site informed by local guide. Ahu Tongariki is the most surprising ahu on the island, with 15 giant moais. Ahu Te Pito Kura has the largest statue erected on an Ahu, the Paro Moai (10 mts, weighing 85 tons) and Pukao with a weight of 11.5 tons. It is believed that the last statue was demolished by 1840. The Ahu is located next to a large stone ball which is identified as the center of the world (Te Pito o Te Henua), which according to a legend was brought by King Hotu Matua by boat. Ahu Nau Nau has 5 moai with Pukao of which 2 are broken. The back of the moai and some stones from the rear wall have petroglyphs. During excavations, an extraordinary eye pupil of white coral red slag was found, and nowadays it is exhibited at the Museum of the Island. Finish the tour at Anakena beach, known for its white sand beach and warm waters including its own moais, before returning to your hotel. HOTEL TAHA TAI (standard room)
Day 4: Oct. 2, WED- ECLIPSE DAY- Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Breakfast at Hotel and time to prepare for the eclipse viewing. The eclipse begins at 11.23am local time with the Sun at an elevation of 56 degrees above the northeast. Maximum eclipse occurs at 1.07pm where the Sun is at 66 degrees elevation above the north. The partial phase ends at 2.52pm with the Sun 55 degrees above the west-northwest horizon.

Day 5: Oct. 3, THU- EASTER ISLAND- Free day- Breakfast
Full day of leisure to relax by the beach, rest at hotel or explore the town on own. HOTEL TAHA TAI (standard room)
Day 6: Oct. 6, FRI- EASTER ISLAND/SANTIAGO/DEPART- Breakfast
Fly to Santiago in the afternoon and connect with your international flight.
